| PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT |
Whether you're looking for individual or couples' treatment, the accelerated forms of therapy I use can help you go straight to the heart of the matter and rapidly implement change. As a psychotherapist and former attorney, I've counseled hundreds of Los Angeles men and women who are affected by a variety of stressors as well as their own reactions to them, many of which undermine relationships, self-confidence and peace of mind. As far as style, I'm active throughout the session in questioning you and giving you feedback about personality style, defenses, anxiety, and level of resistance. Together we'll try to make sense of why you're having difficulties and outline what we can do about it. I'm committed to working as efficiently and as rapidly as possible so that you spend no more time in therapy than necessary. Sessions are 50 to 80 minutes long except for the initial interview. There we want to get an in-depth view of your difficulties so that we can understand the causes as rapidly as possible. For this initial interview, you'll need to set aside 3 hours. I also offer the option of videotaping and strongly encourage this as both a "quality control" measure and a way of deepening the therapeutic process. Videotaping can increase the value of therapy but is in no way a requirement of our working together. [After being used for their intended purpose, the tapes are erased and do NOT become part of your medical record.]

Earlier trainings (1989-2001)
During this period, many of my trainings were tied to the legal community. I presented at State Bar of California Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) programs on stress management at major cities throughout the state and was individually registered as a continuing education provider in the area of Stress Management for attorneys. In this capacity, I also spoke at local law firms and bar associations. I continue to make such presentations from time to time. One audio-video example, from December 2000, is accessible from my website and was given for the Trial Practice Inn of Court, a program of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Other such presentations on anxiety and stress were given for the Juvenile Courts Institute in Los Angeles (1997).
