
Allan Abbass, MD., will conduct a day of supervision at the University of California, Los Angeles on Monday October 26, 2009.The supervision will be from 12 noon until 6 p.m. Six continuing education hours will be offered for psychologists, social workers, physicians and marriage and family therapists who participate the entire day and complete an assessment and evaluation. Dr. Abbass will be assisted by Robin L. Kay, Ph.D. This supervision is open to mental health professionals who either want to have their own work supervised or who want to audit without presenting case material. A forty-five minute video excerpt from a psychotherapy session, preferably unedited and starting from the beginning of the session will be preferred from those who want their work supervised.

During the supervision all participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, make comments, and request clarification of the material. Dr. Abbass will show participants how to best proceed with their patients following the Central Dynamic Sequence (CDS) as developed by Habib Davanloo , MD. Emphasis will be placed on the patient's body language, somatic experiences, metapsychological processes, as well as on the narrative the patient uses to communicate to the therapist.
